Style it Your Way: Autumnal Interiors
This recent blustery weather and showering of falling leaves has got me feeling very autumnal. There's seasonal colours all around at the moment and I'm loving looking out my studio window onto rustic orange rooftops and auburn coloured tree tops, and swishing through mounds of curled up leaves on the pavements. It's influencing the colour choices I'm making to style with in the home. In fact, it's great fun to embrace the seasons and colours outdoors and allow this to theme the way in which you decorate, design and style within your home too.Plus it's high time for an overdue blog post, following all my recent travels up and down to London following London Design Week last month and Handmade in Kew last weekend.

So here's a few easy ways in which you can help bring the theme of Autumn into your interiors. USE AUTUMNAL LEAVES STYLED IN A VASE AS AN ACCENT BURST OF COLOURThe beauty of autumn colour is the variety, strength and depth of natural hues. Think autumn colours and we often think of golden yellows, warm browns, glowing oranges and rustic greens. These colours sit beautifully together and work in harmony. Style these colours together against a wall of similar colour palette and you will instantly add a warm, earthy feel-good glow into your home.Alternatively, pick one strong colour such as a vibrant red leaf of a sycamore, Virginia creeper or Japanese maple tree to style alone in a room to act as a contrasting burst of colour.

MOOD BOARD: MIX WARM COLOURS WITH INSPIRATION FROM THE OUTDOORSAutumn is a lovely time of year to think about a new room makeover or renovation project. Collect pictures that inspire you, gather textures and hues from the great outdoor colour palette. Start a mood board of colours which you want to work with. Perhaps you have a fabric or wallpaper in mind in which you may wish to start off your thought process for the room. Look to nature to ways in which you can add in texture, effects and different materials. For example, it's great to consider wood, ceramics and metals alongside the colours of soft furnishings and wall finishes.
Consider a Mairi Helena fabric or wallpaper to help start off your new room makeover ideas.

COSY AND WARM WITH THROWS AND CUSHIONS
Introduce plentiful textures and throws for the autumn season Consider cosy fabrics such as wools and velvets. Colourful Mairi Helena designer cushions can help to create a statement piece in which to instantly uplift a tired interior and bring new life to an old sofa. Sometimes they simply just 'complete the look'.

ENJOY A PUNCH OF COLOUR IN YOUR BEST GLASSWAREAs the nights draw in, something becomes extra appealing about enjoying a warm tipple by the fire...whether that's a glass of punch or warm glass of red. Thank you to LSA who kindly gifted me a TATRA Vase and TATRA Wine Gobletsfrom their new TATRA collection which is inspired by the Polish tradition of woodworking and the smoked spindle shaped artisan cheeses exclusively made in Poland's Tatra mountains. I'm loving the thick stemmed glasses and hand-cut decorative graphic motifs. A lovely addition to make styling an autumnal interior complete.
